ALRS-1 is a geotechnical simulant produced at the University of New South Wales. It was sourced from a basalt quarry in Kulnura, New South Wales, and was specifically developed to test regolith sintering.

The simulant has also been referred to as Australian Lunar Simulant or Australian Lunar Soil Simulant (ALS-1), not to be confused with Arizona Lunar Simulant that preceded it and already used the ALS acronym.

It is not clear that ALRS is going to be mass produced or distributed.
