Greg Para, loving husband, father of six and recently returned Afghanistan veteran currently works in the 12th Judicial Circuit as the Courts Assisting Veterans coordinator tirelessly helping our veterans who enter the court system. “We have a chance to be on the right side of history with our returning veterans which is something we did not do for our Vietnam Veterans” says Para. Over the last 18 months he has been in contact with over 900 veterans in need of assistance regarding diversion care, housing, employment, substance and mental health issues. His coordination with Drs. Beidel and Neer has made a tremendous impact on his most recently returned combat veterans suffering from severe PTSD. “I’ve watched these veterans who did not want to live with their state of mind transform into hopeful individuals with a new lease on life” says Para. The UCF program has given back lives to our veterans, husbands and fathers to their families, and productive members back to their communities.
