Dr. Hurst joined the faculty of UCF as Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor in August 2016. She serves as a licensed psychologist and clinician for the UCF Restores and Trauma Management Therapy projects. Her primary responsibilities are to screen participants, conduct comprehensive assessments, provide individual and group therapy and deliver trauma-specific treatments, including exposure-based and cognitive processing therapies. She also provides supervision to graduate students working within these programs.
Dr. Hurst received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and Human Services from Florida State University in 2015. She completed her internship in Augusta, Georgia at the Charlie Norwood VAMC and Augusta University (formerly known as Medical College of Georgia) consortium. Following internship, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship through the Charlie Norwood VAMC, with an emphasis on Military Sexual Trauma.
In her spare time, Dr. Hurst loves to travel, spend time with her family and friends, and enjoys art, reading, and yoga.
