The College of Sciences is funding a proposal analysis program for Researchers in the College of Sciences, with the goal of strengthening proposals to federal agencies prior to submission.

The College will be awarding up to ten proposal analysis awards, $500 each, in fiscal year 2018-2019. Faculty who have developed their proposals to federal agencies three weeks prior to the deadline will have the opportunity to have a reviewer EXTERNAL TO UCF critique their proposal prior to submission in order to help strengthen it.

Applications should be sent to COS Post-Award (cospostaward@ucf.edu or CSB 201) in the College of Sciences Dean’s Office. Applications will be accepted throughout the fiscal year until all ten awards are selected. A subcommittee of the COS Research Committee will quickly approve/deny requests. COS Research will handle the payment to the external reviewer, but the responsibility to find the external reviewer is on the applicant. Reviewers will use the current rubrics for scoring proposals in the respective agency.

Required Documentation
  • Copy of proposal
  • Email from reviewer confirming their interest/ability to review
  • Explanation of why this reviewer was selected (served on panel, recently funded by this program, etc.

Deliverable
  • PI will submit a one paragraph summary stating external reviewer’s influence on reviewed proposal, as well as impact on future proposal submissions within one month of submission.
