Dr. Nessette Falu received her Ph.D. in 2015 from Rice University and joined the UCF faculty in August 2017.  She is a socio-cultural anthropologist with research interests in black lesbians/queer, ethical subjects, ethics, wellbeing, bioenergetics, and fugitivity; gynecology and healthcare reform; race, gender, class, and sexulaity; visuals and film; Candomble religious identities.  Dr. Falu works primarily in Salvador-Bahia, Brazil.
