The General track requires students to take upper level courses in all the subfields while the Methods &amp; Practice track allows students to specialize their upper level coursework in one of the subfields. Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/anthropology\/undergraduate-plan-study\/\">Undergraduate Plan of Study<\/a> for the General track to map out your Anthropology B.A.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-justify\"><strong>In the Methods &amp; Practice track students take (45 credit hours total):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"text-justify\">\n<li>Five core courses encompassing linguistics, archaeology, cultural anthropology, and biological anthropology<\/li>\n<li>One anthropological method and theory course from the cultural, archaeological or biological subfields<\/li>\n<li>One applied, field or lab method course<\/li>\n<li>One high-impact learning experience course (e.g., internship, field school, study abroad, honors undergraduate thesis, or directed research)<\/li>\n<li>Seven restricted electives<\/li>\n<li>Use this <a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/anthropology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/08\/UGPS-BA-Methods-and-Practice-Track.pdf\" rel=\"\">Methods &amp; Practice PLAN OF STUDY<\/a>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text-justify\"><strong>In the General track students take (45 credit hours total):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"text-justify\">\n<li>Five core courses encompassing linguistics, archaeology, cultural anthropology, and biological anthropology<\/li>\n<li>Two core upper level courses<\/li>\n<li>One geographic area study<\/li>\n<li>Seven restricted electives<\/li>\n<li>Use this <a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/anthropology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/08\/UGPS-BA-General-Track-and-Online.pdf\" rel=\"\">General and Online PLAN OF STUDY<\/a>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"text-justify\">Important Things!<\/h2>\n<p class=\"text-justify\">Anthropology majors must earn a &#8220;C&#8221; (2.0) or better in all Core Requirements and Restricted Electives. At least 30 semester hours of regularly scheduled 3000-4000 level courses must be taken from the UCF Anthropology Department to fulfill the Residency Requirement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-justify\">Students will need to earn a <strong>total of 120 unduplicated credit hours to satisfy the BA credit hour requirements;<\/strong> 42 of these credit hours need to be upper-level courses (3000 and 4000-level). The <strong>Anthropology major requires 36 credit hours of upper-level coursework<\/strong>, so students will need additional upper-level courses to fulfill the BA credit hour requirement.
