Annalise is a doctoral student in the Department of Anthropology with a focus in Byzantine archaeology and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). She holds a Geographic Information Systems Certificate from the University of Central Florida, a Master of Theological Studies from Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In addition to her work at UCF, she also serves as an editor for Contexticon Learning & Research Inc. Annalise is a member of the American Society of Overseas Research, the Byzantine Studies Association of North America, and the American Academy of Underwater Sciences. Deeply interested in digital humanities and cultural heritage preservation across the Mediterranean, she is serving as the 2026 John Barns Research Intern at the Icon Museum & Study Center. Annalise is carrying out a project to digitally reconstruct the movement of sacred art via pilgrimage routes and icon provenance.<\/p>\n
Annalise was awarded the Trevor Colbourn Anthropological Endowment Fund Fieldwork Award in 2024 and 2025 , the AVISTA Graduate Student Research Grant from the Association Villard de Honnecourt for Interdisciplinary Study of Medieval Technology, Science, and Art in 2025, the Christos and George Trakatellis Scholarship from the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in 2025, the UCF College of Graduate Studies Presentation Fellowship in 2024 and 2026 , the UCF College of Sciences Dean’s Conference Travel Award in 2024 and 2026 , the Mary Jaharis Center for Byzantine Art & Culture International Congress of Byzantine Studies Travel Grant in 2025, and the American Society for Overseas Research P.E.
