Dr. Cooper is an assistant professor in the Department of Biology. She is a biology education researcher and investigates ways to create a more diverse and inclusive undergraduate biology community. She is particularly interested in how student mental health affects their experiences in active learning classrooms and in undergraduate research. She also studies the impact of biology education course-based undergraduate research experiences on students.
