Biography
Chris received their B.S. in Biology from the University of Central Florida and participated in undergraduate research optimizing diet metabarcoding to identify sea turtle diet. After graduation, she worked as a Research Assistant, then as the Laboratory Coordinator for the Genomics Core Lab in the UCF Biology department. As a Ph.D. student, Chris is interested in using genomics to understand population genetics and connectivity in fish.
Outside of the lab, Chris is also an active member of MISS (Minorities in Shark Science). In their free time, Chris loves to knit fun creatures, read science fiction, and is a percussionist in a local community orchestra.
