Biography
Kathryn received a B.S in Biology from Suffolk University (Boston, MA) and a M.S in Coastal Marine and Wetland Studies from Coastal Carolina University (Conway, SC). Her master’s thesis evaluated potential trends between environmental DNA (eDNA) concentration and dolphin abundance in estuarine and coastal environments. As a PhD student at UCF, Kathryn’s research focuses on the population genetics of pipefish species in Florida, with a specific interest in understanding the epigenetic mechanisms that may influence population dynamics.
