GeOMe assigns persistent identifiers for all samples and sampling events and specifies the set of metadata attributes which satisfy the requirements of the\u00a0genomic observatories model, including capturing the who, what, where, and when associated with all samples and the uploads these data to GBIF (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbif.org\/\">https:\/\/www.gbif.org\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading-underline\">Collaborative network of marine biodiversity researchers<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"row\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\" col-12 col-md-4\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/diversityindopacific.net\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"110\" class=\"img-fluid aligncenter wp-image-174 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/biology\/gaitherlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2018\/08\/Diversity-of-the-Indo-Pacific-Network-300x110.jpg\" alt=\"Diversity of the Indo-Pacific Network\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/biology\/gaitherlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2018\/08\/Diversity-of-the-Indo-Pacific-Network-300x110.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/biology\/gaitherlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2018\/08\/Diversity-of-the-Indo-Pacific-Network.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\" col-12 col-md-8\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<p>Founded in 2012 the <a href=\"http:\/\/diversityindopacific.net\/\">Diversity of the Indo-Pacific Network<\/a> (DIPnet) was created to advance genetic diversity research in the Indo-Pacific by aggregating population genetic metadata into a searchable database (GeOME). Our primary aim to promote collaboration and advocate best practices for conducting biodiversity research.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Preserving biodiversity data &nbsp;
