What is CHAMPS?
Creating Holistic Advising and Mentoring in Physical Sciences (CHAMPS) is a scholarship program for Chemistry, Forensic Science, Physics, and Photonic Science and Engineering students with financial need. CHAMPS students receive scholarships (based on unmet financial need), exclusive access to priority class enrollment, additional advising and mentoring by UCF faculty and senior students, academic support programs to promote success in introductory coursework, and opportunities for paid high-impact experiences like research and internships.
CHAMPS Program Goals
The goals of the CHAMPS program are to:
- Recruit and provide scholarships to academically talented students with unmet financial need in chemistry, forensic science, physics, and photonics majors
- Retain scholars in these majors and support them to achieve on-time graduation
- Match scholars to job opportunities and/or graduate programs
