Graduate Students

Our Graduate Chemistry Education Research Program

Starting in Fall 2023 the Chemistry Graduate Program will offer a specific concentration in Chemistry Education Research. Previously graduate students in Chemistry Education Research took the Chemistry PhD concentration. The new program is very similar to the other Chemistry concentrations offered by the department, however, you can take education research methods and theory classes for your elective courses. This means that you have the opportunity to develop a wide set of skills that you might need for your graduate research and future careers.

How to Apply

UCF operates an application process through the College of Graduate Studies. This means that you must apply through the College of Graduate Studies to be considered for our Chemistry Graduate Program. We do not offer a direct application through a prospective PI. Once you have submitted your application through the College of Graduate Studies, your application is forwarded to the Departments Admissions Committee for Review. This makes them invaluable as stakeholders in the research process. We offer these opportunities during the summer semester. During that time, like our undergraduate program, you will conduct professional training in education research techniques, ethics for research using human participants, and be involved with research activities including data collection and analysis.

How to Apply

If you are interested in joining the Randles Research Group for your summer experience, please reach out to Dr Randles directly through email including your CV.
