It prepares the student\u00a0for career opportunities in the chemical or related industries, or in government laboratories. The program also prepares students for further study at the graduate level in chemistry or in a related area such as pharmacology or toxicology. Chemistry is the central science and has a strong relationship with other departments and institutes. Central to our efforts to provide the best possible education for our students is the maintenance of a contemporary and sound curriculum, using guidelines provided by the American Chemical Society. Since chemistry is a laboratory science, special attention is given to the laboratory component of our curriculum. Our research efforts involves faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and are significant teaching components. Please contact your professor for information.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"jumbotron jumbotron-fluid mb-0\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"container\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<section id=\"placements\" class=\"ucf-section ucf-section-chemistry-placement auto-section pt-2 pb-4\" data-section-link-title=\"Placement Exam\" aria-label=\"Placement Exam\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"heading-underline\">Placement Exam<\/h2>\n<p>To register for CHM 2045C, you must earn a passing score in the Chemistry Placement Test WebCourse.\u00a0 Students interested in majors that require CHM 2045 are recommended to take this test.\u00a0 For majors that require only CHS 1440C, the placement test is not required, however, CHS 1440C will not satisfy the pre-requisite for CHM 2046.<\/p>\n<p>To register for the Chemistry Placement Exam, visit your UCF Student Home Page at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/my.ucf.edu\/\">my.ucf.edu<\/a> and Log In.
