Students are encouraged to meet with their assigned academic success coach (ASC) each semester to discuss a variety of topics (including schedule planning, degree progress, academic standing, and more), and in many cases it can be confusing to know where to begin when it comes to your options for academic success coaching. You are able to schedule an appointment with your assigned ASC via My Knight Star (MKS) in your myUCF portal. PHPL Advising provides information about the field of law and a wide variety of health-related fields such as allopathic (M.D.), osteopathic (D.O.), and veterinary (D.V.M.) medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, optometry, podiatry, chiropractic, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and public health. These careers require academic study in professional school settings beyond the baccalaureate degree, and PHPL Advising assists \u201cPre-Professional\u201d Students in any undergraduate major by offering academic advising, administrative support, and other activities related to preparing for and applying to professional schools.<\/p>\n<p>The Pre-Health and Pre-Law Advising office serves as a focal point for communicating with Pre-Professional Students concerning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Required courses for professional schools<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer and shadowing opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Internships<\/li>\n<li>Extra-curricular activities<\/li>\n<li>Medical or law school tours or meetings<\/li>\n<li>Seminars and related workshops<\/li>\n<li>Tests and application materials<\/li>\n<li>Important timelines and deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Selection of possible professional schools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PHPL Advising\u2019s goal is to enhance the likelihood of success for all Pre-Professional Students who seek acceptance into a professional school.
