What do I do?<\/h2>\n<p>COS Students who are on academic probation will be placed in a COS online workshop each term on academic probation and will be sent an email through their UCF email detailing instructions along with a deadline to complete the Webcourse assignments.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW153608834 BCX0\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">Students can confirm whether they are on academic probation by checking their Student Self Service account through My.UCF.edu.\u202f Select either\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW153608834 BCX0\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">MyKnight<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW153608834 BCX0\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">\u00a0Audit or Grades under the Other Academics drop down box.\u202f The Grades option will show UCF \u201cCumulative\u201d GPA, and then go to the grades term that was last completing (not current term) and academic standing will be posted in that screen if the student is either Removed from Probation or not in good standing.\u202f The\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW153608834 BCX0\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">MyKnight<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW153608834 BCX0\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">\u00a0Audit will have the current academic standing listed at the top if removed from probation or on academic probation.\u202f Finally, the University Registrar\u2019s Office will send students a notice who are not in good academic standing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">COS holds are placed on student accounts in some cases, though the student is notified through their UCF email address in these cases. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">COS holds will not be lifted once classes begin in the next term, and the student will have to sit out that term, and request to be placed in the most current\u00a0Webcourse\u00a0to have the COS hold lifted.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">A change in major that changes a student\u2019s College (e.g. any major outside of COS) may result in the new College placing a probation hold.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t<nav class=\"sections-menu-wrapper\" aria-label=\"Page section navigation\" style=\"min-height: 60px;\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"navbar navbar-toggleable-md navbar-light bg-primary sections-menu\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<button class=\"navbar-toggler collapsed ml-auto\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#sections-menu\" aria-controls=\"#sections-menu\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"navbar-toggler-text\">Skip to Section<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"navbar-toggler-icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"navbar-collapse collapse\" id=\"sections-menu\" data-autoselect=\"true\" data-selector=\".auto-section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"nav navbar-nav\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/nav>\n\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"jumbotron jumbotron-fluid bg-secondary mb-0\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"container\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<section id=\"about\" class=\"ucf-section ucf-section-academic-probation-about auto-section pt-2 pb-4\" data-section-link-title=\"About\" aria-label=\"About\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"heading-underline\">About Academic Probation<\/h2>\n<p><b>Students are placed on academic probation\u202fwhen their UCF GPA drops below a 2.0. Academic probation will continue until the current term and UCF GPA reach a 2.0 or better.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once placed on probation, the student is enrolled in the probation webcourse and a hold is placed on the students profile.<\/li>\n<li>Student must complete all components of the webcourse, including meeting with an ASC and obtaining a signed schedule planning form.<\/li>\n<li>After completing all sections of the webcourse and uploading the signed planning form, the hold is removed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students in the College of Sciences are informed that they have been placed on academic probation and placed in the COS\u00a0Webcourse through an email to their registered UCF email address.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\n<hr \/>\n\t\t\t<section id=\"webcourse\" class=\"ucf-section ucf-section-academic-probation-webcourse auto-section pt-2 pb-4\" data-section-link-title=\"Academic Planning Webcourse\" aria-label=\"Academic Planning Webcourse\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"heading-underline\">About the Webcourse: Academic Planning Workshop<\/h2>\n<p><b>Those who have a COS hold should plan to\u00a0complete the\u00a0Webcourse\u00a0assignments before the end of the term.<\/b> Because students are provided with multiple emails as reminders to complete the\u00a0Webcourse\u00a0assignments throughout the term, once classes begin in the next term, the COS hold will not be lifted until after the add and drop week has passed.<\/p>\n<p>Students are required to complete the COS\u00a0Webcourse\u00a0<u>each semester<\/u> Placed on Academic Probation.<\/p>\n<p>We strongly recommend that students complete the COS On-Line Workshop through Webcourses before the Withdrawal Deadline in order to learn how to avoid Academic Dismissal (such as withdrawing from courses that may lead to academic dismissal).<\/p>\n<p>If you have a COS hold and do not have access to this web course, please email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:COSAS@ucf.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\">COSAS@ucf.edu<\/a> or your academic success coach through your UCF email only. Include your name, PID, and information about your COS hold.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\n<hr \/>\n\t\t\t<section id=\"plan\" class=\"ucf-section ucf-section-academic-probation-academic-sciences-plan auto-section pt-2 pb-4\" data-section-link-title=\"Academic Sciences Plan Required\" aria-label=\"Academic Sciences Plan Required\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"heading-underline\">Why is the Academic Sciences Plan Required?<\/h2>\n<p>The Academic Sciences Plan is designed to get students in touch with their Academic Success Coach (ASC) to discuss their coursework for the current semester, plan out what courses are still required to reach graduation, and to develop a plan for the following semester that will allow a student to work towards graduation while improving their GPA requirements.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a class=\"btn btn-primary\"\n\t\t\thref=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/cosas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2024\/10\/Academic-Sciences-Plan-fillable-form-2023-updated.pdf\"\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\tDownload the Academic Science Plan\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n<p>To complete the plan, students can either contact their Academic Success Coach via email\u00a0 or log in to myKnight Star to schedule an appointment with their Academic Success Coach. Students that have not been assigned an Academic Success Coach can meet with an ASC during our walk-ins to complete the plan (hours of operation can be found on our main page). Students should bring a printed copy of the Plan to their meeting and work out a suitable schedule for the subsequent term. Have your ASC sign off on the Plan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember<\/strong>: The Academic Sciences Plan requires both your signature and Academic Success Coach. Students are given an extended deadline once the COS hold is placed, which is the last day of the current term.\u202f Multiple email notifications continue after the initial deadline to remind students to complete the assignments as the Webcourse will no longer be available once the term ends. <strong><u>Students are also notified that COS probation holds will not be lifted once the next term begins until after the Add\/Drop period is over.
