Staff Everyday Excellence Award
These awards recognize staff members who deliver outstanding service and make a positive impact on someone’s day or the outcome of a project. See below for more information:
- Both staff and faculty can nominate staff members.
- Staff members receive a certificate and a small gift.
- Recognition events will be held at least once a semester.
- Award does not include financial incentive.

Staff Ace Award
These awards recognize a staff member who consistently takes initiative to support COS while working well with those around them. This person could be considered a “mover and shaker” in their respective area. While having direct reports isn’t necessary, they should demonstrate strong leadership skills that inspire others. See below for more information:
- One staff member per month is selected.
- Both staff and faculty can nominate staff members.
- The nominee’s direct supervisor must support the nomination.
- Nominees will be considered for the award for three months.
- Winners will receive a certificate, a small gift and $250.
- Recognition events will be held at least once a semester.

This annual award recognizes one Staff Ace Award winner with a financial reward.
Recognizing Outstanding Instruction Award
These annual awards recognize faculty’s outstanding instructional accomplishments, contributions and impact at the undergraduate or graduate level. See below for more information:
- Accomplishments in multiple categories related to instruction will be recognized.
- Chairs and directors can nominate full-time faculty of any rank from their unit.
- Winners will receive a certificate of recognition.
- Recognition event will be held every spring.
- Not all nominees will receive an award.
- Award does not include financial incentive.
