The Albuquerque Astronomical Society’s (TAAS) Cosmic Carnival
Saturday, November 1, 2025
The Albuquerque Astronomical Society (TAAS) and the Open Space Visitor Center hosted a day of exhibits and evening stargazing. Dr. Thomas Prettyman represented the Lunar-VISE and Psyche missions by demonstrating a cart mounted gamma ray spectrometer used for analog geologic studies. He also shared presentation materials about Lunar-VISE and displayed meteorites relevant to both Lunar-VISE and Psyche. In the evening, Dr. Prettyman set up an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope for observations he planned of the Gruithuisen Domes.
