Previously, I was a ICES Postdoctoral Fellow in the <a href=\"https:\/\/padas.oden.utexas.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Parallel Algorithms for Data Analysis and Simulation<\/a> group at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oden.utexas.edu\">Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences<\/a>, formerly known as\u00a0Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utexas.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Texas-Austin<\/a>, working with Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oden.utexas.edu\/people\/1056\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">George Biros<\/a>, and before that, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the <a href=\"http:\/\/cims.nyu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York University<\/a>, working with Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.math.nyu.edu\/faculty\/greengar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Leslie Greengard<\/a>. \u00a0I obtained my Ph.D. in <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.wpi.edu\/academics\/math\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mathematics<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wpi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Worcester Polytechnic Institute<\/a> on\u00a0February 2013, with Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/users.wpi.edu\/~msarkis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcus Sarkis<\/a> as my PhD adviser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;text-indent: 0.5in\">I received my Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Computer Engineering from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ime.eb.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instituto Militar de Engenharia<\/a> in 2002 and my Master&#8217;s degree in Mathematics from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.impa.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instituto de Matematica Pura e Aplicada<\/a> in 2007.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Upcoming Presentations<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>I am giving a talk at the SIAM PD25 to be help in Pittsburgh, PA, from November 17-20, 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Short Bio I am currently the Graduate Program Director and Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":9,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","template":"page-publications.php","meta":{"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"class_list":["post-2","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2"}],"version-history":[{"count":12,"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":250,"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2\/revisions\/250"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/9"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/borges\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
