The theme is on modeling, computation and analysis in mathematical biology. Conference topics include cancer modeling and computation, pattern formation and neurosciences, mathematical ecology and epidemiology, and other related fields.<\/p>\n<h5>Plenary Speakers<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter Bates, Michigan State University<\/li>\n<li>Qiang Du, Columbia University<\/li>\n<li>Bard Ermentrout, University of Pittsburgh<\/li>\n<li>Robert Gatenby, Moffitt Cancer Center<\/li>\n<li>Wei-Ming Ni, University of Minnesota<\/li>\n<li>Jianhong Wu, York University, Canada<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Invited Speakers<\/h5>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">We have confirmed 70 invited speakers to give 30-minute talks in parallel sessions on three different days. After that date, the registration fee will increase to $195. Students and postdoctoral researchers may register at a reduced rate of $85 before April 1 or $115 after that date.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Please notice that the cost of registration covers participation in all conference activities and includes the dinner banquet on Thursday, May 3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">For UCF faculty and students who are not attending the banquet, the registration is free.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/math\/mathbio\/registration\/\">Start online registration<\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Financial Support<\/h5>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">The National Science Foundation has provided funds for the financial support of a limited number of participants to attend the conference. Priority will be given to graduate students, early-career researchers, and other researchers currently without travel money. If you would like to be considered for travel\u00a0support, please submit a two-page CV to the organizing committee at<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">fmbucf@gmail.com<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Graduate students should also arrange for their supervisor to\u00a0submit a one-page letter of support to the address above. Please mention that you are reserving a hotel room in <strong>Orlando UCF hotel<\/strong> under the group name <strong>FMB <\/strong> when making your reservation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Although it is possible to\u00a0walk between the hotel and campus (a walking distance of 1.6 miles to Classroom Building II on campus), we are\u00a0also planning for a shuttle service to be available.<\/p>\n<h5>Local Information<\/h5>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">If you plan to fly to Orlando then you will likely want to arrive into <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Orlando_International_Airport\">Orlando International Airport<\/a>. Direct flights are available to many cities in the United States and Canada.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Orlando International Airport is approximately a 20 mile drive from the main campus of UCF. It is strongly recommended to rent a car or take a Uber\/taxi to get to the main campus from the airport as public transportation will take over 2 hours with several bus transfers. The cost for a Uber from the aiport to the meeting is $54\u2013$69 each way. More ground transportation options can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoairports.net\/parking-transportation\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">To drive from the Orlando International Airport to the meeting at UCF: Take 417 North to University Blvd Exit east onto University Blvd. Continue east on University Blvd for approximately two miles and it will take you to the main entrance to the campus. Make a left turn at the first light, Gemini Blvd West. Continuing on Gemini Blvd West for 0.2 mile, Parking Garage I will be on your right. We have obtained conference parking permit (free of charge) for FMB participants to park in Parking Garage I. Please contact us (fmbucf@gmail.com) for the permit.
