We are a community of faculty, researchers, and students who apply mathematical, statistical, and computational approaches to address pressing questions in the biological and health sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Research Areas<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our members work on a broad range of topics, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ecology and Conservation<\/strong>: habitat connectivity, wildlife movement, population persistence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Epidemiology and Public Health<\/strong>: modeling infectious disease spread, intervention strategies, health disparities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Evolutionary and Population Biology<\/strong>: dynamics of adaptation, genetics, and metapopulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Statistical and Computational Methods<\/strong>: movement models, kernel density estimation, uncertainty quantification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Seminars &amp; Events<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The group organizes the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/mathbio\/mathematical-biology-seminar\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"10\">Mathematical Biology Seminar<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, held weekly during the academic year, and the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/mathbio\/workshop-on-mathematical-biology-and-differential-equations\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"39\">Workshop on Mathematical Biology and Differential Equations<\/a><\/em><\/strong> on a regular basis. <br>The seminar and workshop feature speakers from UCF, visiting scholars, and international researchers.
