{"id":10381,"date":"2014-08-06T20:41:17","date_gmt":"2014-08-07T00:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.cos.ucf.edu\/?p=10381"},"modified":"2016-12-01T13:20:32","modified_gmt":"2016-12-01T18:20:32","slug":"congratulations-college-of-sciences-summer-ph-d-graduates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/congratulations-college-of-sciences-summer-ph-d-graduates\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations College of Sciences Summer Ph.D. Graduates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2014\/08\/Dean-picture-resized.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10386 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2014\/08\/Dean-picture-resized.jpg\" alt=\"Dean picture resized\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a reception hosted by Dean Michael Johnson, the College of Sciences honored 11 Ph.D graduates on Friday, August 1, 2014.\u00a0 The Ph.D. graduates attended the reception in the\u00a0Physical Sciences\u00a0Building on the UCF campus with their\u00a0families and faculty advisors.<\/p>\n<p>Associate Dean Teresa Dorman hosted a presentation that individually recognized each graduate with their faculty advisor and read a brief description of their dissertation research.\u00a0 A champagne toast followed the presentation to cheer the continued success of these graduates.\u00a0 The following day the graduates attended their graduation ceremony at the UCF Arena.<\/p>\n<p>The graduates come from many different departments within the College of Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to our Summer 2014 Ph.D. Graduates!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2014\/08\/Group-photo-resized.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10385 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2014\/08\/Group-photo-resized.jpg\" alt=\"Group photo resized\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Abhijeet Ardey<\/strong> &#8211; Earned his Ph.D. in Physics with a dissertation titled \u201cOn\u2010Chip Optical Stabilization of High\u2010Speed Mode\u2010Locked Quantum Dot Lasers for Next Generation Optical Networks\u201d.\u00a0 His faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/physics.cos.ucf.edu\/people\/delfyett-peter\/\">Dr. Peter Delfyett<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Christopher Coultas<\/strong> &#8211; Earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with a dissertation titled, \u201cIdentity construction and information processing in a coaching relationship: The effects of coach behavior on coachee goal-setting and commitment.\u201d\u00a0 His faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/psychology.cos.ucf.edu\/people\/salas-eduardo\/\">Dr. Eduardo Salas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr.\u00a0<strong>Danielle Lindner<\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a dissertation titled \u201cThe development and psychometric evaluation of a new measure of self-objectification\u201d.\u00a0 Her faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/psychology.cos.ucf.edu\/people\/dunn-stacey\/\">Dr. Stacey Dunn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Christopher Lorscher<\/strong> &#8211; Earned his Ph.D. in Physics with a dissertation titled \u201cNovel properties of ferromagnetic p\u2010wave superconductors.\u201d\u00a0 His faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/physics.cos.ucf.edu\/people\/klemm-richard\/\">Dr. Richard Klemm<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr.\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Lyons<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong> &#8211; Earned her Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with a dissertation titled, \u201cExamining the impact of error encouragement on training outcomes.\u201d\u00a0 Her advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/psychology.cos.ucf.edu\/people\/salas-eduardo\/\">Dr. Eduardo Salas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Evgeny Martinenko<\/strong> &#8211; Earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics with a dissertation titled, \u201cFunctional data analysis and its application to cancer data.\u201d His faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/math.cos.ucf.edu\/~mpensky\/\">Dr. Marianna Pensky<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Hari Paudel<\/strong> &#8211; Earned his Ph.D. in Physics with a dissertation titled, \u201cThe effect of electron\u2010hole pairs in semiconductor and topological insulator nanostructures on plasmon resonances and photon polarizations.\u201d\u00a0 His faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/physics.cos.ucf.edu\/people\/leuenberger-michael\/\">Dr. Michael Leuenberger<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Kamran Sadiq<\/strong> &#8211; Earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics with a dissertation titled, \u201cOn the range characterization of the attenuated radon transform in strictly convex sets\u201d\u00a0 His faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/math.cos.ucf.edu\/~tamasan\/\">Dr. Alexandru Tamasan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Elizabeth Sanz<\/strong> &#8211; Earned her Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with a dissertation titled, \u201cExploring stereotype threat in the workplace with sexual minorities.\u201d\u00a0 Her faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/psychology.cos.ucf.edu\/people\/fritzsche-barbara\/\">Dr. Barbara Fritzsche<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Walter &#8220;Brent&#8221; Wilson<\/strong> &#8211; Earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry with a dissertation titled, \u201cNovel developments on the extraction and analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental samples.\u201d\u00a0 His faculty advisor is <a href=\"http:\/\/chemistry.cos.ucf.edu\/people\/campiglia-andres\/\">Dr. Andres Campiglia.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Matthew Marraffino<\/strong> &#8211;
