\"Graduation<\/a>A unique\u00a0event will occur\u00a0for a mother\/daughter team this Friday.\u00a0 Both will be graduating with degrees from the\u00a0University of Central Florida on the same day.\u00a0Debbie Tyson will be graduating with a degree in psychology<\/a> from\u00a0the College of Sciences<\/a> and her daughter, Raina Sims, will earn her degree in education from the College of Education and Human Performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The College of Sciences graduation ceremony will take place on Friday morning.\u00a0\u00a0The speaker will be vice president of training and logistics solutions for Lockheed Martin, Jon Rambeau.<\/p>\n

Falecia Williams, president of Valencia College\u2019s West Campus, will be the speaker at Friday\u2019s afternoon ceremony for students in the College of Education & Human Performance and the College of Nursing.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0total, more than 7,500 students are expected to graduate from May 7 to 9.\u00a0 The anticipated graduates include 6,488 students who filed intents to receive bachelor\u2019s degrees, 1,024 for master\u2019s degrees, 26 for education specialist degrees and 93 for doctoral degrees.<\/p>\n

UCF will also reach a big milestone during the Saturday morning graduation ceremony by surpassing the 250,000 alumni milestone. University officials will pause briefly during the ceremony to recognize the milestone and take ceremonial photographs with the 250,000th graduate.<\/p>\n

UCF has awarded 270,962 degrees through the December 2014 ceremonies. Because many graduates earn multiple degrees, the number of graduates has not yet surpassed 250,000.<\/p>\n

Saturday\u2019s morning ceremony is for students in the College of Business Administration. Roger Pynn, an UCF alumnus and founder, president and CEO of the Curley & Pynn public relations and marketing company, will be the speaker.<\/p>\n
