\"Anthropology<\/strong><\/p>\n

In partnership with the University of Central Florida, the Orlando Science Center<\/a> is hosting a special guest speaker series in conjunction with\u00a0the Mummies of the World: The Exhibition.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Topics will feature studies on current anthropological and archeological research around the world, including mummification, bioarcheology and forensic anthropology.<\/p>\n

The Mummies of the World exhibition depicts an once-in-a-lifetime collection of real mummies and artifacts from around the world. This fascinating collection includes ancient mummies dating back as far as 4,500 years. A intriguing mix of old and new, this enchanting collection bridges the gap between past and present with contributions from 10 world-renowned Institutions and two private collectors.<\/p>\n

All four presentations will take place on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. in the Digital Adventure Theater.\u00a0The speaker series is included with general admission to the Orlando Science Center, which includes the Mummies of the World:\u00a0The Exhibition.\u00a0 Student discounts are available with valid ID.<\/p>\n

The first speaker is Dr. J. Marla Toyne<\/a>, associate professor of Anthropology at\u00a0UCF. On Sept.26th<\/strong>, she will be presenting \u201cAncient Trepanation (Cranial Vault Surgery) in Peru.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Oct. 10<\/strong>th<\/sup>, Dr. Sandra Wheeler<\/a>, lecturer of anthropology at UCF, will be speaking on \u201cMummies Inside and Out: Mummy Studies and Modern Science\u201d.<\/p>\n

Talk three will be hosted by Dr. Lana Williams<\/a>, lecturer of anthropology at UCF, on Oct.24<\/strong>th<\/sup>. She will be presenting \u201cGoing Out in Style \u2013 Beauty Tips from Egypt\u2019s Mummies.\u201d<\/p>\n

The last talk, \u201cNo mummies, No Problems\u201d, will be presented by Dr. Sarah Barber<\/a>, associate professor of anthropology at UCF, on Nov. 14<\/strong>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
