The Political Science Department\u00a0in partnership with the UCF Global Perspectives Office is bringing\u00a0to women in international leadership positions UCF to speak on Tuesday, October 5, 2010.\u00a0The guests will discuss\u00a0cross-cultural challenges during a forum\u00a0in the Pegasus Ballroom of the Student Union from 3 to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Presentations will be given by actress Sarah Culberson, the Kurdistan Regional Government\u2019s Zhala Sabir and the U.S. Institute of Peace\u2019s Jacqueline H. Wilson.<\/p>\n

Culberson appeared in television shows such as \u201cStrong Medicine,\u201d \u201cBoston Legal\u201d and \u201cThe Secret Life of the American Teenager.\u201d Later in life, Culberson learned that she was from a royal family in Sierra Leone and about a 11-year civil war. She co-founded the\u00a0Kposowa Foundation to help educate young people in Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

Sabir is the director of congressional and academic affairs at the Kurdistan Regional Government\u2019s office in the U.S., and oversees the congressional and think tank outreach. She also follows legislation and polices relevant to the Kurdistan Region.<\/p>\n

Wilson spent more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves. Her military career included assignments in analysis, training and counterterrorism, which helped her prepare for her position as senior program officer at the United States Institute of Peace\u2019s Education and Training Center.<\/p>\n
