Student were encouraged to present current or recently completed academic projects showcasing the diversity of topics, approaches, and interests at UCF.<\/p>\n<p>The presenters received faculty feedback, competed for cash awards in\u00a0multiple categories and shared their research and creative projects to the broader university community.<\/p>\n<p>The annual Graduate Research Forum, hosted by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.graduate.ucf.edu\/\">College of Graduate Studies<\/a>, and SURE, hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/our.ucf.edu\/\">Office of Undergraduate Research<\/a>, demonstrate to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the greater Central Florida community that student research enriches the UCF experience.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16680 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2016\/04\/2016-SURE-2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"2016 SURE 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2016\/04\/2016-SURE-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2016\/04\/2016-SURE-2-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2016\/04\/2016-SURE-2-299x200.jpg 299w, https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2016\/04\/2016-SURE-2.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>First place winners in the Graduate Research Forum were invited to present at the<a href=\"http:\/\/today.ucf.edu\/the-best-graduate-research-in-the-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Statewide Graduate Student Research Symposium<\/a> on April 22, 2016 at the University of Florida. At this event top graduate students, selected from ten universities in Florida, competed for awards on the state level. Anthropology master&#8217;s student Abigail Woltering won first place at the symposium for the Life Sciences category.
