The space mission launched a spent rocket into the moon\u2019s surface last year in hopes of seeing a plume of debris that would give scientists a rare opportunity to see what was beneath the moon\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n<p>University of Central Florida Professor Humberto Campins was quoted in a Nature news story about the findings. He offered his expertise about where the water ice and other materials detected through LCROSS might come from.
