These are presented by an impressive\u00a0lineup\u00a0of top practitioners\u00a0and prominent academics from around the world.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14069\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-14069 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/communication\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/172\/2016\/10\/Littlefield-Official-Photo-8710-219X330-for-web-200x300.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Robert Littlefield, Ph.D.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Robert Littlefield, Ph.D., who serves as director and professor of communication in UCF\u2019s Nicholson School of Communication, is very excited about the upcoming conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe upcoming 7th\u00a0annual ICRCC conference promises to be one of UCF\u2019s best as scholars and practitioners bridge the gap with their views about mega-crises; including terrorist acts, environmental crises and the political pressures surrounding health crises,\u201d said Littlefield. \u201cI\u2019m so pleased with the extra efforts being expended by our faculty and staff to create a hospitable and exciting setting for thought-provoking presentations and stimulating discussions. We are also presenting awards to prominent figures and emerging student scholars, making this conference one you won\u2019t want to miss. And after all, it\u2019s March in Orlando\u2014the weather will be beautiful!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ICRCC\u00a0provides a relaxed and informal, peer-to-peer learning experience\u00a0for communication researchers and practitioners. It provides opportunities to share knowledge and firsthand experience\u00a0surrounding this globally significant, emerging and evolving field.<\/p>\n<p>The ICRCC was designed to facilitate interaction and discussion about crisis and risk communication among members of both the professional and academic research communities in interrelated fields. The vision for the annual\u00a0conference remains consistent with its origin. The priorities remain to keep the conference as a conversational forum, to sustain a climate for personal interaction, to feature leading professionals and top scholars and to provide information and new ideas that are useful and meaningful to conference participants.<\/p>\n<p>Among this year\u2019s featured speakers is <a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/communication\/icrc\/?speaker_cat=2017-keynote-speakers\">Dr. Antonia\u00a0Novello<\/a>. The\u00a0former U.S. Surgeon General will also be the\u00a0recipient of the \u201cExcellence in Crisis and Risk Communication Award.\u201d This award will be presented annually to a prominent public figure who has demonstrated effective crisis and risk communication in a challenging situation.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Don Stacks, Ph.D., will be receiving the Bridge Award for Excellence in Strategic Communication Research.
