Nicholson School of Communication and Media<\/a> alumna Kendra Hathaway \u201813 is busy making her mark on the entertainment industry in Southern California. Her career so far has exemplified the importance of persistence and dedication even when challenges arise.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After graduating with a degree in Radio-Television Production,<\/a> Hathaway moved to Los Angeles and worked as a freelance Casting Assistant on \u201cThe Voice.\u201d She then moved to Warner Brothers Entertainment to work as a Production Assistant and later as a Production Manager for the television show \u201cEXTRA.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After leaving Warner Brothers, she embarked on an exciting adventure at NBCUniversal. It was here that she had the opportunity to work on the production side of popular shows like \u201cE! News,\u201d \u201cAccess Hollywood,\u201d and \u201cFashion Police.\u201d She also had the opportunity to work with clients in Television, Film and Commercials, leasing the famous backlot facades and soundstages.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the world’s largest Production Gear Rental Companies, PRG, scooped her up after an impressive 6+ year career with NBC, where she spent over two years working as a lead Account Executive within their Television and Film Department. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite experiencing some adversity being impacted by company layoffs due to the SAG AFTRA Strikes, Hathaway accepted an offer for the next step in her career as Senior Project Manager \u2013 Live Events for Stories Unlimited. The company provides creative and technical design execution for immersive experiences within the live entertainment industry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hathaway is passionate about helping the next generation of students who have a dream of working in the entertainment industry. “Get involved in everything and anything and soak up all the knowledge that you can. See the full scope of every position in production,\u201d said Hathaway.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also wants students to understand that \u201cpersonal branding really matters.\u201d By differentiating yourself, you can stand out from others and make a unique mark in the entertainment industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
