Rami George Khouri, executive editor of the Lebanese newspaper The Daily Star, will speak Thursday, Dec. 2, at the University of Central Florida.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Perils and Promise of Communication Between the Arab World, the Middle East and the West\u201d will begin at 3 p.m. in the Garden Key Room of the Student Union. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
In addition to his role at The Daily Star, the largest English-language newspaper in the Middle East, Khouri pens the twice-weekly \u201cA View from the Arab World,\u201d which explores the issues of his native land.<\/p>\n
Khouri previously served as editor-in-chief of The Jordan Times. He also wrote from Amman for other international publications, including The Financial Times, The Boston Globe and The Washington Post. His work has attempted to bridge the interests of audiences in both the Middle East and the West with analysis of current and important international issues.<\/p>\n
