<\/p>\nBoyd Lindsley, Assistant Director of the Nicholson School of Communication (NSC), was recently honored at the Black and Gold Gala. Lindsley was named the 2010 College of Sciences\u2019 Rising Star by the UCF Alumni Association.<\/p>\n

The award is given to one alumnus or alumna from each college for his or her effort to give back to UCF and the greater Orlando community. Lindsley is an asset to NSC. His role as the Assistant Director for NSC is similar to the Chief Operations Officer position in the corporate world. He helps develop new academic, administrative and facility improvements in addition to overseeing or executing the details of each recently created process.\u00a0He also works closely with the NSC Director, Dr. Robert Chandler, to, create future possibilities for the school.<\/p>\n
“His institutional knowledge is invaluable as it helps facilitate multiple projects, navigate the intricacies of the university and has offered him a \u2018big-picture\u2019 understanding of how the many large-scale projects being executed in the school\/college can be\/are tied together,” Chandler said of Lindsley.<\/p>\n
Lindsley’s goal as the NSC Assistant Director is to make the Nicholson School of Communication operate as the most effective, efficient and fun administrative unit in the University of Central Florida. He volunteers with a number of organizations but devotes a substantial amount of time weekly to the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, where he is committed to a variety of initiatives including a literacy\/tutoring program he established to assist those struggling with the ability to read, write and attain GEDs.<\/p>\n
Lindsley received his Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations from UCF in 2004. In 2006, he received his Master of Arts in Interpersonal Communication from UCF.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
