The UCF Arboretum will be closing applications this Friday the 17th<\/sup> for the paid Research and Mentoring Program position. If you MEET all the QUALIFICATIONS and are interested, please send your resume and a letter of interest to arboretum@ucf.edu<\/a>. Information and qualifications are as follows:<\/p>\n

The UCF Research and Mentoring Program (RAMP) in coordination with the UCF Arboretum is providing a paid ecological research opportunity beginning fall 2012. The RAMP program prepares students to succeed in their progression from undergraduate studies to graduate school, offering students an opportunity to engage in faculty-guided research projects, prepare for graduate school, and benefit from faculty mentoring. In addition, the students participate in a variety of workshops designed to increase their awareness and knowledge of the graduate application process. Dr. Patrick Bohlen, Director of the Arboretum and Professor of Biology, will serve as the student\u2019s academic mentor, and Arboretum staff will help supervise and coordinate student research activities.<\/p>\n

Eligibility Criteria: a desire to pursue graduate education in ecology, environmental science or related field; a minimum overall GPA of 3.0; enrolled as a full-time student at UCF and having completed 60 credit hours with approximately four semesters remaining in program of study; preference given to student with financial need who is also a first generation college student or a member of a group that is underrepresented in graduate education (African American, American Indian\/Alaskan Native, or Hispanic\/Latino).
