Students for a New American Politics PAC is pleased to announce the Fall 2012 Organizing Fellowship Program. The SNAP Fellowship is a paid grassroots organizing fellowship for students and youth that\u2019s fast-paced, high-impact, and focused on social justice values. This isn\u2019t your average su<\/a>mmer internship \u2013 it\u2019s your opportunity to create real, lasting change.<\/p>\n

As a SNAP Organizing Fellow, you\u2019ll work for candidates and causes that support labor and economic justice, and the environmental, LGBTQ, and immigrants\u2019 rights movements. You\u2019ll talk to voters and recruit volunteers to elect Democratic candidates who are ready to put Congress to work building a fairer society.<\/p>\n

SNAP seeks to hire several Organizing Fellows for our fall program. All Organizing Fellows will be placed on liberal\/progressive Congressional campaigns or ballot initiatives in competitive districts across the country. Transportation to the districts will be provided. Fellows will work from the time they are accepted until the week of Tuesday, November 6. We look for applicants with some previous community or political organizing experience.<\/p>\n

Equal Access Statement: SNAP believes that our country\u2019s leadership should reflect its diversity. We therefore pay all Organizing Fellows a stipend of up to $5,000, based on financial need. The average stipend in summer 2012 was $1,582 plus free housing and transportation for 10 weeks.<\/p>\n

How to Apply: For priority consideration, apply as soon as possible by Monday, September 10 for work until Nov. 6. Applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis. Download the application at www.snappac.org\/apply.doc. Then, copy and paste Part 1 within an email and attach Parts 2 and 3 as one document. Applications should be emailed to snap.applications@gmail.com with the subject line \u201c2012 Fellowship.\u201d<\/p>\n
