Dr. Terri Fine explains what the popular “Only in Florida” means when discussing politics to the TODAY Show.<\/p>\n

Terri Fine is a professor of Political Science and a senior research fellow at UCF\u2019s Lou Frey Institute of Politics and Government. Fine teaches courses on political participation and political communication. Her research interests include women and politics, public opinion and voting behavior, the youth vote and political methodology. She also participated in the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy\u2019s multi-state analysis of how campaign finance legislation impacted the 2004 elections, and she shared the results of her research at the National Press Club.<\/p>\n

Fine has taught at UCF since 1989. She earned her doctorate in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and her bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from the University at Albany in New York. She has received eight awards for teaching and one award each for university service, advising and faculty leadership. She has received grants from the Florida-Israeli Institute, the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute for the Study of Judaism and Gender, the U.S. Elections Assistance Commission, the Tauber Institute and Hillel International.<\/p>\n

She has attended six presidential nominating conventions as a faculty associate for the Washington Center, and she has served as a poll worker in Orange County since 2004. She has been quoted by the Associated Press, New York Post and Boston Globe, along with many other newspapers around the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
