In the nationally-acclaimed \u201cWE USED TO OWN THE BRONX,\u201d Eve Pell gives readers an inside look into the hidden, often bizarre world of America\u2019s aristocracy. Pell comes from a famous WASP family, growing up on opulent estates staffed by live-in, uniformed servants. Her cousin, Senator Claiborne Pell, started Pell grants, which help 5 million students a year obtain a college education.<\/p>\n
Pell is an award-winning journalist, reporting for three PBS documentaries and publishing articles in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Nation, Ms., and many others. She taught journalism at San Francisco State University and lectured at Stanford.
