Leclair was honored on March 2 with the below interview.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2013\/03\/2010-041-e1362511951696.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6587\" alt=\"2010 041\" src=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2013\/03\/2010-041-e1362511951696.jpg\" width=\"235\" height=\"148\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your current job title and responsibilities?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Assistant to the Dean of the College of Sciences<br \/>\nResponsibilities include: Scheduling &amp; Dean\u2019s Calendar, Meeting Coordination, Event Planning, Involvement in Colleges\u2019\/Departments\u2019\/School\u2019s Foundation Accounts; Scholarship Awards<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your history at UCF? (past job titles, responsibilities)<br \/>\n<\/strong>Formerly Administrative Assistant in the Nicholson School of Communication Responsibilities included: Budget, Payroll &amp; Hiring, Oversight of Main Office, Staff, OPS &amp; Work Study Personnel, Foundation, Travel, Director\u2019s Scheduling &amp; Calendar, Meeting Coordination, Event Planning and Faculty Assignments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite UCF memory?<br \/>\n<\/strong>That\u2019s a toughie since I have many but one that stands out is the Opening of the College of Medicine event.\u00a0 So fortunate to have been able to witness the hope and promise surrounding the event.\u00a0 I have a brick in the plaza to honor my mother, Betsy Coull, who was a dedicated and talented nurse most of her life.\u00a0 I just wish she could have been there to see it.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you could change one thing at UCF, what would it be? ($ and time no object)<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Parking!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is one piece of advice you would like to share with your colleagues?<br \/>\n<\/strong>As UCF grows in size and stature, it\u2019s difficult not to take the troubles and pressures of the work day home. Try not to.\u00a0 We are all part of an amazing team of administrators, faculty, staff and students striving each day to give our best to UCF.\u00a0\u00a0Do something you enjoy outside the workplace!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite restaurant or food?<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Tolbooth in Stonehaven, on the Northeast Coast of Scotland \u2013 (Scottish Restaurant of the Year in 2009) Favorite food there would have to be the\u00a0Crispy Thyme \u2018Mille Feuille\u2019 layers of filo pastry, cep mushrooms, sunblush\u00a0tomatoes &amp; thai grass, topped with a quenelle of ratte potato and a\u00a0truffle viniagrette.Favorite restaurant here is Ravenous Pig in Winter Park.\u00a0 Favorite food there would have to be the Shrimp and Grits (no sausage or bacon please!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite book or movie or song?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Anything by James Herriot<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 All Things Bright and Beautiful; All Creatures Great and Small. Good to cry and laugh out loud all through the same book. Movie\u00a0The Big Chill. Seen it about 8 times \u2013 Johnny Carson produced.\u00a0 Had an amazing sound\u00a0track.\u00a0 Song, Too many to list but Stand By Me is a constant favorite<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your dream vacation spot?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Corfu in Greece<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite sport to watch or participate?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Participate \u2013 Horseback Riding! \u2013 Just got a new horse \u2013 Sefton.\u00a0 Temporary insanity\u00a0at my age. What was I saying about doing something you enjoy outside the workplace?!?\u00a0 Watch \u2013 Showjumping, Dressage (particularly the musical kur \u2013 Andreas Helgstrand\u2019s\u00a0YouTube round is a must see)<\/p>\n<p><strong>If UCF was going to name something in your honor, what would you like it to be?<br \/>\n<\/strong>A scholarship for a talented student equestrian.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you could have lunch with anyone at UCF, who would you choose and why?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Boyd Lindsley, Assistant Director of the Nicholson School of Communication.\u00a0 He\u2019s smart, funny, engaging, spontaneous, adventurous, and neither one of us is known\u00a0for our appetite<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who at UCF would you like to thank for your success?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Two people for sure \u2013 Dr. Raymond Buchanan \u2013 first hired me back in the day.\u00a0 Just attended a Nicholson School of Communication Reunion and he said it was his legacy to UCF \u2014 funny man! We are still close friends and Dr. Peter Panousis, then Dean of the College of Sciences who hired me for my second life at UCF.\u00a0 Have to look very hard to find a finer human being.\u00a0 It was a privilege to work with him as most people who ever have will agree.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Name and describe a teacher from you past who truly inspired you.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Mr. Ingram (Southesk Academy) \u2013 not only a terrific teacher but a terrific mentor and person.\u00a0He encouraged us not only to think for ourselves but to stand up for our beliefs.\u00a0 He left a lasting impression.\u00a0 As did Miss Pam who instilled fear on the hockey field!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What undergraduate class\/program inspired you the most and why?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Took a Photojournalism class with Dr. Paul Hightower.\u00a0 Gave me an appreciation for black &amp; white photography and cemented the belief, \u201cevery picture tells a story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you had a \u201cfree\u201d Saturday, how would you spend the day?\u00a0<\/strong>You mean without laundry, car washing, housecleaning, and grocery shopping??!! Tea and toast and a newspaper on the back porch with my corgi, Tag,\u00a0 Riding Sefton on a lovely long trail, Massage by Jeanne Hollingshead, Lunch and wine with my favorite girlfriends, Clothes Shopping\u00a0, Workout with Rob Murray and\u00a0Dinner and a movie with my husband, Ron\u2026unless he\u2019s agreeable to dancing!?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations, Maggie LeClair, on your special honor from the UCF\u00a0Center for Success of Women Faculty.
