{"id":670,"date":"2011-03-17T21:18:53","date_gmt":"2011-03-17T21:18:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.cos.ucf.edu\/?p=670"},"modified":"2011-03-17T21:18:53","modified_gmt":"2011-03-17T21:18:53","slug":"technology-in-health-care-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/news\/technology-in-health-care-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology in Health Care Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regional representatives will discuss the impact of technology in health care at the seventh-annual State of Health Care in Central Florida Symposium at the University of Central Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The public is invited to attend the symposium at the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center, across the street from the UCF Arena, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 16.<\/p>\n<p>Panelists will discuss the ways technology is used to improve health care, such as the use of electronic health records and mechanisms for checking in and treating patients.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers on the panel include Andy Lee, chief scientist for Harris Healthcare; Rick Schooler, vice president and chief information officer for Orlando Health; Rajesh Toleti, CEO of PatientPoint; and Dr. James Palermo, chief medical and quality officer for Health First.<\/p>\n<p>The agenda also includes a networking session from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The event is free for UCF students, and the fee for UCF Alumni is $10.
