A University of Central Florida graduate and Hollywood producer has just been nominated for an Emmy award.<\/p>\n

Clay Newbill is a producer on ABC\u2019s hit TV show \u201cShark Tank\u201d. The show was one of five nominated for an Emmy for best reality series.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really good,\u201d Newbill told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday from Los Angeles. \u201cVery excited here. As a boy who grew up in Ormond Beach and went to the University of Central Florida, to be nominated for this show is an incredible feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show will be up against other top series for the award, including PBS\u2019 \u201cAntiques Roadshow,\u201d Discovery Channel\u2019s \u201cDeadliest Catch,\u201d Food Network\u2019s \u201cDiners, Drive-Ins and Dives,\u201d Discovery Channel\u2019s \u201cMythBusters\u201d and CBS\u2019 \u201cUndercover Boss.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t believe it, I\u2019m very humbled by it,\u201d Newbill said to the Orlando Sentienl. \u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to know our peers recognize \u2018Shark Tank\u2019 as a show they admire. I tell everybody that producing \u2018Shark Tank\u2019 is the best job in the world. It\u2019s so rewarding to work on a show that has social value and is helping people when they need it the most.\u201d<\/p>\n

Newbill graduated from UCF in 1982. He has worked on many other hit TV shows such as MTV\u2019s \u201cThe Real World\u201d and \u201cRoad Rules\u201d and ABC\u2019s \u201cThe Bachelor\u201d and \u201cThe Bachelorette.\u201d<\/p>\n

The awards are presented on September 22.<\/p>\n
