Biography

Dr. Douglas Dew is the CEO of Automated Clinical Guidelines. He is an orthopedic surgeon with a background in health IT, hospital leadership, entrepreneurship and product development. As an inventor, he holds six U.S. patents. Dew is past President of the Florida Orthopedic Society and recently served a six-year term on the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons’ Board of Councilors. Dew is Professor of Orthopedic Surgery in the College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida and the Flagler Hospital UCF M3 Surgery Site Director. He also serves on the Board of the St. Johns County Council on Aging and has served as the healthcare representative on the North East Florida Planning Council’s Institute of Sustainable Living. He is recipient of the UCF College of Sciences 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Professional Achievement Award. Dew also received a BS in Biology from the University of Miami, and his MD from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He also holds an MBA in Healthcare from the George Washington University School of Business. His hobbies include paleontology, art history and the history of science. His personal science library of over 40,000 works has been compared to the Dibner Collection at the Smithsonian and Huntington rare book libraries.
