She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from University of Virginia. She is a Fellow of American Physical Society, and a member of French Association for the Advancement of Science and American Association of University Women. She is an expert in the field of atomic, molecular and optical physics, particularly in the x-ray regime. She was awarded in 2014 the\u00a0Davisson-Germer Prize, American Physical Society, for her pioneering experiments on the interaction of atoms, molecules, negative ions and clusters with ionizing vacuum ultraviolet and soft x-ray photons. She was elected to\u00a0Blaise-Pascal Chair d\u2019 Excellence, Ultrafast science at Commissariat \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nergie Atomique, CEA, Saclay, France, 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dr. Berrah is currently a professor in the Department of Physics at University of Connect (USA).
