Exposure to hands-on research experience is a vital component of undergraduate education, and the department strives to ensure that this is available to our Physics majors who may be interested in performing research with professors here at UCF, even during these difficult times. Join us on Thursday September 24, from 5pm-7pm, for a live 2 hour session to learn more about the research opportunities available in the groups in our Department, and a description for how interested students might get involved. The event will be held online.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact (Ahlam.al-rawi@ucf.edu, William.kaden@ucf.edu, tkaralidi@ucf.edu, or Christopher.Bennett@ucf.edu) as soon as possible.
I would like to announce that the Renewable Energy and Chemical Transformations (REACT) Cluster at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in collaboration with the Florida Chapter of the American Vacuum Society (AVS) and UCF-AVS student chapter is hosting a Distinguished Lecture Series on Catalysis. Prominent scientists from various universities, research centers, and industry conducting experimental and theoretical research in surface science and catalysis will be giving lectures every other week. The lectures are intended for an audience with a broad range of expertise, from undergraduate and graduate students to senior scientists.
Karsten Reuter, Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, Germany, Merging multiscale theory and data sciences to tackle operando energy conversion systems.
This series is free to all registrants, available through Zoom. Early registration is recommended as enrollment is limited to 300 participants. To register for the webinar, please fill out this online form: https://forms.gle/uDmoQpLEJWymAZ5TA.
