We employ and develop novel computational approaches based on first principles (ab initio) methodologies, effective Hamiltonians, and group theory analysis to study the fundamental aspects and potential applications of various quantum materials in the field of optoelectronics, optospintronics, and quantum information technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 51%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The group&#8217;s research interests include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Optically-addressable many-body states (excitons, trions, \u2026)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electric and magnetic control of excitonic complexes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excitonic devices: spin lasers and spin LEDs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergent phenomena in van der Waals matter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proximity effects, moir\u00e9 physics, &#8230;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spin-orbit coupling, quantum geometry, \u2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Xtronics, X = orbi, twist, spin, strain, valley, \u2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Semiconductor nanostructures (quantum wells and wires)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ultrafast lightwave control of electrons in solids<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These research topics provide invaluable opportunities to establish strong collaborations
