PREP students visit the Orlando Science Center and are surprised by how much general physics knowledge is required to fully understand some of the exhibits enjoyed by children and adults of all ages and backgrounds alike.<\/p><\/div>\n

PREP students visit a vertical wind tunnel and learn first-hand how difficult it is to maintain static equilibrium by balancing drag and weight forces (and torques) while maintaining a stationary terminal velocity just a few feet from the ground.<\/p><\/div>\n

PREP students compare popularized tropes about scientists to their personal experiences working in real research labs while using teambuilding and analytical reasoning skills to escape the “Lab at Loch Ness.”<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"2020 cycle averted to contribute to efforts to mitigate against COVID-19 community spread. Students selected for participation have been offered deferred admission into the 2021 cycle.<\/p>\n

Second iteration of PREP is now underway with 6 new participants. More to come as the program progresses.<\/p>\n

Central Florida PREP program is now accepting applications from candidates interested in participating in the summer of 2019.<\/p>\n

Inaugural PREP class will present summaries of their projects between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM in Research I, Room 101\/101A. All are welcome to attend, and a detailed program can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
