Welcome to the Physics Women Society website!

The mission of the Physics Women Society (PWS) is to promote the interest of women in our physics department by providing a platform for networking, guidance, mentoring, and counseling. The organization hosts many events, including talks given by female professionals, mentoring for undergraduates, and outreach to encourage a passion for science in girls. While the focus of the organization is on women, the purpose is to improve the atmosphere and relations throughout the physics department now and for the future.

What do we do?

PSB Atrium during Tea Time

PWS gets together at least once a month for tea time or for special events hosted throughout the semester. Our Tea Time with PWS is every Monday from 2pm to 3pm in the Physics atrium during the Spring and Fall semesters (once a month during Summer). Throughout the year we also host a Research Symposium to shed light on the research conducted by women in our physics department. We also have events like our Spring Potluck to have the community come together and simply relax around good food. PWS also serves as a community for you to express yourself; you will always find the officers and other PWS members willing to listen.
