Three specific areas within this theme are targeted: 1) Materials for catalysis; 2) Quantum materials for energy needs; and 3) Transparent conducting thin films for photovoltaics.\r\n\r\nStudents will gain hands-on training in topics such as synthesis of two-dimensional nanostructured materials and ultrathin films, material characterization, single-atom catalysts, nanostructured materials for electrocatalysis, topological quantum materials, and computational design of materials for energy applications. In addition to research experience, students will benefit from training in critical thinking, data science and machine learning, ethics and scientific integrity, written research communication, scientific presentations (poster and oral), formulation of research hypotheses, and framing of research questions with informed knowledge of key literature in the field.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWomen and Members of demographic groups traditionally underrepresented in STEM are particularly encouraged to apply. The deadline for application for Summer 2026 is \u00a0March 14, 2026<\/strong>.
