Women and Members of demographic groups traditionally underrepresented in STEM are particularly encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent resident.<\/p>\n

For full consideration, all documents must be received by March 14, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET<\/strong>. Initial notifications of acceptance will be sent out on April 20 or earlier.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We seek to support undergraduates students majoring in physics, chemistry, or materials science who have just completed their freshman or sophomore years at an institution of higher education and are working toward a 4-year undergraduate degree. \u00a0Priority will be given to under-represented students in STEM who have had limited or no previous research experience, and who are very excited about the possibility of a career in STEM. \u00a0Special consideration will be given to veterans, non-traditional students (over 30 years old), students with disabilities, and students who are the first in their families to attend college\/university.<\/p>\n

The application must be submitted through NSF ETAP<\/a> and must contain:<\/p>\n

1) Resume<\/strong><\/p>\n

2) Personal statement \u2014 one page maximum<\/strong><\/p>\n

Discuss your interest in the program<\/p>\n

Include a ranking of the top three project choices<\/p>\n

3) Official transcript<\/strong><\/p>\n

4) Two letters of recommendation<\/strong><\/p>\n
