Joe Funderburke is beginning his final year of coursework in pursuit of a Ph.D. in Security Studies. He is also an active duty Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army with 21 years of military experience leading soldiers and civilians, conducting research, developing strategic plans and policies, advising senior military leaders and government officials, generating new strategic and operational concepts, creating teams, and guiding organizations. Joe is a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with nearly three years of combat experience serving in multiple capacities. Joe maintains a current and active Top Secret clearance.
