Xiongwei Cao is a Ph.D. Student of Security Studies at University of Central Florida. Before he came to Orlando in 2013, Mr. Cao was deputy division chief for European Affairs in the Foreign Affairs Office of the National People’s Congress (NPC), People’s Republic of China (the Chinese parliament). He has traveled with Chinese parliamentary delegations to more than 60 countries conducting bilateral exchanges of visits and attending international conferences. He has also received numerous parliamentary delegations from all parts of the world including several high-level delegations from the U.S. Congress such as the one led by former House Speaker Ms. Nancy Pelosi in 2008. He served as NPC’s deputy liaison officer with the European Parliament in the Chinese Mission to the European Union in Brussels from 2005-2008. His research interests include International Relations, U.S-China relations, International Political Economy and Chinese Politics.
