Colonel Funderburke is an Army Strategist. He currently leads the China and North Korea joint, multi-disciplinary, interagency, and cross-functional teams in the Pentagon. His responsibilities include providing coordinated and integrated recommendations to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. COL Funderburke has served at multiple levels throughout the Department of Defense, to include as a Congressional Fellow. He has over three years of combat experience with most deployments in the Middle East as part of various Special Operations Task Forces. COL Funderburke holds a Bachelor of Science degree from West Point, a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, a Master’s degree in Legislative Affairs from the George Washington University, in addition to a Ph.D. in Security Studies from the University of Central Florida.
