Gabriela Flores-Cruz (Gabby) | Lab Manager | Presidential Doctoral Fellow
Gabby is a first-year student in the Human Factors and Cognitive Psychology Doctoral program at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She received her Bachelor’s in Fall 2019 from UCF in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Sciences. Her research interests include decision making and risk perception in air pollution, developing assessment and cognitive tasks for mobile devices, and the role of cognition on medication errors.

Undergraduate Students
Samantha Husar
Samantha is a Junior at the University of Central Florida (UCF) working towards her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Clinical track. She plans to graduate in Spring 2023 and continue her education in graduate school, aspiring for a Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.). Her research interests include the impact of mental health symptomatology on cognitive distractibility.
Maria Eugenia Gonzalez (Maru)
Maru is a junior majoring in Psychology in the Neuroscience track with a minor in Biological Anthropology at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She’s graduating from UCF in the Fall of 2023 and is hoping to pursue a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Cognitive Psychology. Her research interests include the effects of immigration, bilingualism, and culture on cognition and mental health especially among Hispanic populations, as well as the role of these life experiences as people age.
Caroline Villacis (Carlee)
Carlee is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree, as a part of the experimental track. She will graduate in May 2023 and hopes to continue to a graduate program where she can further explore psychological research and clinical practice. Her research interests include music performance anxiety, driving anxiety, music’s relationship with attention and memory, and immersion in video games.
John Palmese (Johnny)
Johnny is a senior in the Interdisciplinary Studies program with sub focuses in General Psychology and Cognitive Psychology at the University of Central Florida (UCF). He will be receiving his Bachelor’s in Fall 2022 and has intentions of continuing his education and completing a doctoral program. His research interests include the effect of allergy medications on cognition, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.
